Covid Policy Update

We are cognizant that covid is on the rise again in our nation. You and your child’s health is important to us. We, thankfully, got through the first wave of covid with very few cases passing through the gym, and to our knowledge, no actual spread within the gym. In Missoula, cases are rising.  We are hoping that the rates of immunization within Missoula will help keep the numbers in our community lower than are being seen in some places in the nation. Our policies may evolve if the situation changes significantly in Missoula, but for now our covid policy is as follows:

Covid Policy

1st Line of Defense

Because of the nature of our business, our first and best line of defense is for kids and clients to stay out of the gym when they have ANY sign or symptom of illness. Vigilance on the part of parents in checking in with kids will probably be the most efficacious thing we can do to keep sickness out of the gym. We ask that before you bring your kids to the gym, you check in with them to see if they have any signs of early onset illness. If your child has any sign of illness, please err on the side of caution and keep your child home! If we or any of our staff notice a sign or symptom of illness with your child, we will be sending them home.

Also, if you have any reason to believe that you may have been exposed to covid, please stay out of the gym until you have a negative test or have passed the incubation period without developing symptoms.

Early on-set symptoms may include

  • Stuffy or runny nose

  • Sore throat

  • Fever

  • Nausea

  • Loss of taste/smell

  • Check the CDC guidelines for additional warning signs/covid symptoms

Also, as a parent with kids, you are likely aware that if your child is getting sick, they are often just a little bit off, not acting like their normal selves, so please watch your child for general malaise, unusual fatigue, or increased irritability. These can also be signs of early onset of sickness. If your child is showing these signs, please keep them home.

2nd Line of Defense

We will be regularly sanitizing kids and coaches’ hands as well as mats and equipment between each class/group use.

Social Distancing

We will be social distancing classes/groups from each other so that your child’s class should not have significant or prolonged exposure to another group or class.

As per Missoula County Health Department Guidelines, we are recommending masks but are not currently requiring them for students. As a parent, you know your child’s immunization status, health status, emotional and physical needs better than we do, so at this time we are leaving the decision of wearing masks up to you, and again ask that you be hyper vigilant in keeping kids with any signs of illness, or potential exposure to covid, at home.

Staff will wear masks around their necks, and we are asking that when they are doing up close teaching or hands-on spotting with kids, that they cover their nose and mouth for the duration of that up close interaction.

Additional precautions you can take:

1. If you or any of your family members are in a high-risk category for serious health outcomes should you contract covid, we recommend that you take a break from the gym until the Delta variant has run its course.

2. Boost your immune system! We are not medical specialist, so we recommend that you check with your doctor/pediatrician for sound medical advice before giving kids supplements. That said, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and zinc are generally available in formulas that are considered safe for kids and are generally held to be good immune boosters. Making sure you and your child are getting adequate sleep is also a great way to boost the immune system.
